Davinder Hart

Date of Birth: 17/3/1995

Region: Perth, WA/ Port Douglas, QLD

Language: Noongar

Davinder’s family roots are Bibbulmun & Katanning in the south west region of the Noongar people. As a small child his family moved to Adelaide and he spent his teenage years there.

In 2013 he left Adelaide to work at Ayers Rock Resort, Uluru. There he worked as an indigenous demonstrator in the art of boomerang & spear throwing, bush tucker talks, didgeridoo and traditional dance to resort guests.

Davinder has a strong connection to the Ngemba people of western New South Wales. They have provided him with identity and ownership for his culture by going out bush and practicing old traditional ways.

His paintings reveal the traditional lessons that show the morals, ethics and values as well as his own personal lessons along his cultural journey. This knowledge has been passed down from his uncles and aunties and these stories are told through his paintings. He would like to acknowledge his uncle Waylon Boney & Grandfather Paul Gordon for their knowledge passed down.

Davinder’s unique art has been selling locally, within Australia and starting to become popular with cliental overseas such as the UK and USA.

In 2016 Davinder moved to Port Douglas and in 2018 we welcomed him to Ngarru Gallery.
